New Years 2010/2011

Happy New Years everyone!
This past year has been a physically and emotionally exhausting and trialling one. I'd say its been one of the hardest years of my life so far (although I will admit that there's only been 18 of them, so thats not necessarily a massive feat) & as much as there was the good parts of it, I'm personally a little bit glad to be saying goodbye. 2010 was a year in which I was cut down to the core in terms of insecurities, and have been building myself up ever since.
I'm just glad to be starting a new year. I know its just one day, but on what other day can you say shit like "Oi, I havent been shopping all year, so FUCK YOU!" as you retreat to your bedroom clutching your minature laptop defensively, your family shaking their heads in disgust, already planning your intervention.  Or "Listen, I havent eaten an entire loaf of garlic bread all year, so WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE?!?!?!" (but seriously, dont judge, i fucking love garlic bread.)
Here is a helpful diagram as to how this situation often occurs around my home. Btw, before artfully crafting that illustration of garlic bread, I google imaged it, and let me just say NEVER DO THAT IF YOURE HUNGRY.

Aside from that, it is also a time for new years resolutions.
Some people make them, and some break them every year, some people just think they're stupid & don't bother. But I think sitting down once a year (although you should do it more often) to evaluate what you need to do to live the life you want to live is a good idea. I made quite a few I'm hoping I can attend to:

1. Start all university assignments within a day of getting them
Yeah, I know. This is what my parents are forever telling me to do, but shit. I've got parties and online shopping to do...what do these mofos want from me?  Ahh, guess Im going to have to put the more enjoyable things in life aside a little and give it a go.
2. Hand in drafts whenever possible
Do they do that at uni? Did I just make it painfully obvious how uni noob I am? Am I now sitting awkwardly in my chair as if someone I know is going to come up and judge me? ....Moving on.
3.Clean up & organise bedroom
This shit needs to be done, because I literally dream about a perfectly organised closet where all my clothes, shoes & jewelry are on display....nom nom
4. Keep bedroom clean & organised at least 98% of the time.
5. Make a regular effort at learning a language.
mmm languages, mmm.
6. exercise as regularly as possible.
need to find a good dance school and ITS ON.
7. make an effort to eat better
Theres a clause on this one that says copious amounts of garlic bread is still okay...
8. Get blog ready & functioning
Which appears to be just a nerdy way of saying post regularly an show the blog a little lovve.

Ok. Now admittedly, that shit right there was HEAVY on the words. So, pictures now of the outfit I wore to go clubbing on my birthday when I turned 18!
My little sister shot these photos before fringe-fixing, so err..try to ignore it. Looking at these photos makes me so glad I got a full head of foils yesterday! On a side note, this appears to be some sort of stretching my arms like batman pose. Awesommmmme....
Working on removing the jumper. Backdrop is my little sister's makeshift 'curtain' (its a sheet, haha)
Despite the fact its not all that attractive, this photo makes me laugh so I'll include it. Nothing like a bit of seedy dancing when you're removing an item of clothing.
The bodysuit is by BlackMilk Clothing. Which by the way is fucking amazing. I own three bodysuits and two pairs of leggings from them (read : him) now. The only 'downside' to the bodysuits is that you can't really wear a bra (save for those 'stick on' ones that I just cant seem to figure out). For me that's pretty okay (genetic perkiness ftw) save for the dreaded 'nipple effect', but it could get annoying for people who need or want a bit more support..

The back shots : I love how low the back of the bodysuit is, & that the print continues on the back. Also these shorts are amazing. They're Stussy, I believe, but a friend gave them to me because they were too big for her. I love love love the aztec inspired pocket decoration and frayed edges.

Thats all from me for now folks, hope you all have an amazing start to your new year!
over & out xx

Love your outfit! Bet you had an amazing time on your birthday.
Great resolutions too, I haven't made any yet but I also like the one about the uni assignments. Maybe I should put that into practice and avoid the all nighters right before assignments are due.
