What $9.50 object did i fall in love with today?

 ChiChi  'Viva La Diva' matte lipstick in colour' Status'. 

Enjoy the photos of the packaging, im a suckerrr for any sort of typography..although I'm still unsure as to whether I find the actual lipstick..er..'tube' tacky or appealing. Moving on.

Essentially, today I found myself bored in Port Central's Target, amusing myself with the array of colours in the packaging of all the brands Target's makeup section holds. I went straight for the Napolean Perdis lipsticks, but just wasnt in the mood to swatch them all for their subtle differences, so I turned the corner to the Chichi section. These ones were clearly labelled as to whether or not they had a 'matte' finish, so it was easier to find what i was looking for...and i quickly came across this particular range, and then this particular colour, 'Status'. Its a bright orange-red colour most alike the colour of the packaging in the very first picture above, or the second picture of the tip. 

 I'd been wanting a take on the classic red lipstick for some time, but really wanted a matte, more orange toned one as I felt it would suit my olive undertoned skin a little more than a blue-toned red. I was much too lazy to apply it properly, but wanted to give you some indication of how amazing the colour is. 

 Here's why I think this shit is so amazing - it's matte, without being drying (its enhanced with Vitamin E, Jojoba & Evening Primrose oils to this purpose) it smells like Turkish Delight (not even just vaguely, really really obviously) gives a full, pigmented colour, is cheap for good lipstick (generally $18.95) and I somehow managed to get it half price today for $9.50. 

 Hoping these photos give a good representation of the colour of this lipstick - it appears its really hard to capture on  my sister's camera, even in natural light.

Whats that? I think I hear my boyfriend bursting into tears at the thought of my wearing bright lipstick. Poor boy.
